First Hand Experience in How to Understand, Communicate and Enjoy Your Young Poker Player
Loren Ackerman has first hand experience in the area of parenting a young poker player. In the midst of carpooling, SAT prep classes and soccer play-offs, she discovered her young son was playing a game called No Limit Texas Hold’em. After spending days and weeks searching the Internet, calling professionals and visiting bookstores unsuccessfully for information about this game, she came to the conclusion that nothing was written to assist parents in this situation. She decided it was her responsibility to learn this game, assess its impact and determine if her child was playing in a healthy way. She is a teacher of gifted education, a member of numerous professional organizations, a workshop presenter and recipient of a number of educational awards. She has written for several education companies and has a bachelor’s degree in elementary and special education in addition to a master’s degree in technology.
Christopher Ackerman is 24 years old and is a professional poker player. He graduated from Quinnipiac University in 2004 with a Bachelors Degree in Finance. Christopher contributes valuable insight and perspective for young players and their parents about balance, responsible play and communication. In addition, he provides an excellent point of view regarding financial success and the game of poker.
